Memories of the docks

Art of the docks
Here you will find artistic works inspired by memories and stories of Grimsby Docks.
Tales from the docks
Read the written memories and stories from individuals who used to work and visit the docks. This also includes creatives stories written by young people inspired by people’s memories of Grimsby Docks.
Oral History Resources
Find information on other oral histories which can be accessed locally and digitally.

Did you used to work ‘down dock’?
Do you have memories of visiting the docks as a child?
Have family members passed on their memories to you of their time on the docks?
As part of our project to capture and collect people’s memories of Grimsby docks, we are hoping to build a ‘word cloud’ which will show words that people have submitted to the project. We will gather these words together in a picture which will show users of the website what words people link most to their memories and experiences of the docks.
If you would like to submit a word or words to the project, please email memories@thekasbah.co.uk
